SUPPORTING OUR FARMER SUPPLIERS
At Miraka, we believe in delivering more than just milk – we’re committed to supporting our farmers with the best returns, support and a values-driven partnership.
We support our dairy farmers by offering the best milk price, which in recent seasons for example, has averaged $0.15c / kg MS above the farmgate milk price. Farmers are part of our farming excellence programme, Te Ara Miraka, which improves on-farm sustainability, animal welfare, milk quality, and productivity. We pay up to $0.20c / kg MS in premiums under Te Ara Miraka.
Our international certifications such as Toitū, B Corporation, and Food Safety System Certification, underscore our commitment to sustainability and excellence, helping us to maximise returns in emerging markets. We embrace kaitiakitanga, the guardianship and care of the natural environment and resources.
With Miraka, there’s no capital outlay for shares, and since 2010, we’ve paid over $21 million in premiums to our farmers, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to their success.

Established in 2010 by a small group of Māori trusts, and founded upon a te ao Māori worldview, Kaitiakitanga – guardianship of our natural environment – is one of our core values. Miraka is New Zealand’s second-largest, Māori-owned global export company, exporting $300 million worth of premium dairy products to customers around the world.
We’re proud to partner with Feed Out, who supply our dairy farmer’s milk donations to food banks and community organisations throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
